Kings Park and Botanic Garden is a 4 square-kilometre park located on the western edge of Perth CBD in Western Australia. The park welcomes over 5 million visitors each year whether it is to enjoy the hundreds of plant varieties and bird species or to attend one of many events and festivities on offer.
The park is a tourist haven with nature walks and treetop walkways in abundance. It also contains the Royal Kings Park Tennis Club and reservoir and State War Memorial in honour of our servicemen. Each year the park hosts Australia’s largest wildflower exhibition and show. Peak season for wildflowers falls between July and October when 25,000 plants and a dozen species of wildflowers are in bloom. Started in 1964 with a few flower displayed in jars, the yearly September event now hosts numerous magnificent floral exhibitions. November to April each year welcomes the summer festivities with a range of activities including outdoor cinemas, concerts and theatre.
Kings Park and Botanic Garden is open to the public 24 hours every day of the year. Located just 1km from Perth’s Central Business District with busses frequenting from the parks outskirts. Perth Airport is just a 20 minute drive from the park entrance.
